Forgiveness Of Sin

Theme: Forgiveness of sin

Text: Eph. 1vs7,col.1vs 14

Forgiveness is a Greek word "Aphesis" which means Remission of sin, liberty, deliverance, release from bondage.

(a). How did forgiveness(Aphesis) comes
It comes through blood, it is not done by mouth or by word or works of man. It is done by the blood of Jesus christ. The blood established convenant between man and God.
Blood represents life. In the old testament, the blood of one year old lamb without spots, blemishes or wrinkles is used as sacrifice for just one year, after that year another sacrifice is done again and again, till the death and resurrection of Jesus christ. Lamb also has life and its not eternal, its speaks for particular period of time.
Shedding of blood as sacrifice in the olden days is temporary not eternal according to (Heb.9:13_23),(Heb.10:1_4). Blood of lamb covered sin for some period. God gave eternal remission through some one who is perfect, without sin, no blemish,no spots or Winkle and that is Jesus christ.

(b). Roles of Jesus in forgiveness of sin.
Before God could consider one's has perfect for Remission of sin he must perform these three things

1.  Object:
Suffer and Die: he must suffered, in this sufferness beating is part, molestation and many more and finally hang to the cross and die on the cross, if that person die by an accident or stoned to death he is not the perfect one but one who die on the cross.

2.  Resurrect:
And after all these that perfect lamb must resurrect on the third day not on the fourth or first day.
For the Bible says :And if that perfect lamb fail to rise,my faith, your faith, our faith are mere delusion [futile, fruitless], and we are still in our sins [under the control and penalty of sin];(1cor.15vs 17 emphasized added). So for our faith not to be in vain that perfect lamb must raise to life on the third day.

3.  Subject:
Heb9:24 :For Christ (the Messiah) has not entered into a sanctuary made with [human] hands, only a copy and pattern and type of the true one, but [He has entered] into heaven itself, now to appear in the [very] presence of God on our behalf . (AMP)

Priest: he must perform the action of priest by taken His blood to heaven, liking to the old testament whereby a priest must take the blemish lamb's blood to holy of holies, taken His(perfect) blood has the eternal lamb killed. He will sprinkle the blood on all vessels and even all beings to come. So that all the placed called Holy of holies, the vail will be opened has to no sacrificed will be offered again. Heb. 9:11_14
11:But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation.
12:He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.
13:The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean.
14:How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

All these roles was perfectly performed by Jesus christ. That's why He is called the perfect lamb.

(c). Purpose of blood

According to Matt(26:28)AMP:For this is My blood of the new covenant, which [ratifies the agreement and] is being poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins(remission of sin),
Act(2:38)AMP:And Peter answered them, Repent (change your views and purpose to accept the will of God in your inner selves instead of rejecting it) and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of and release from your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

According to these verses, the purpose of blood is for  the remission of sins, not for covering your body, or covering your house, or covering your head, but all our old life Christians has turn his blood to medicines or protector over accident or evil incident. No!No!!No!!! That blood is more useful than that, this blood is for reviving or cleaning the sins.

(d). Types of sin
Sin is classified into two types namely:

1. Sin as Nature and;
2. Sin as an Act.

   1.Sin as Nature
This is a sin that can cause separation between man and Go and it has been dealt with through christ Jesus our savior.

   2.Sin as an act
This sin does not concerned God. One has to deal with it. When one commit adultery he will be the one to see the repercussion. Nothing concerned God about that, you are the one hurting your body.

(e). How to receive forgiveness of sin
Act 2:38: Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Forgiveness of sin is received by the blood of Jesus christ and it is received once and for all not twice or thrice or even daily basis.Heb 10:10:And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.(NIV).

Praying for sin has no effect on those that believe Jesus. Prayer of sin never take away sin but the sacrifice in which Jesus has done has taken away all sins otherwise those who do not believe Jesus their sins would have been forgiven without believing christ as their savior.
Remember, the Bible says, Your sin I remember no more, he always sees christ in you not sin, God never look at sins again He has exchange christ who is sinless, no blemish for we sinner so we maybe righteous before him as christ is righteous sitting at the right hand side of God.      2nd cor5:21:God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.(NIV).
1peter3:18:For Christ [the Messiah Himself] died for sins once for all, the Righteous for the unrighteous (the Just for the unjust, the Innocent for the guilty), that He might bring us to God. In His human body He was put to death, but He was made alive in the spirit.
Even those in old testament are more wiser than us, once they used one year old lamb as sacrifice they will never ask for forgiveness till that year over talkless of an eternal lamb used for sacrifice still some are calling Christians a sinner if Christians are now sinner then the unbeliever will be what?
The Bible says blessed are they whose iniquities, sins are forgiven, and whose sins, iniquities are covered and completely buried, not seen again and also Blessed and happy and to be envied is the person of whose sin the Lord will take no account nor reckon it against him.(Rom. 4:7,8empasized added), according to these verse, take no account means he has no book of record for record no iniquities or sin, and also these verse is written by our father David when he saw the vision of a perfect lamb given himself as sacrifice for all beings.
Heb. 9:26:For then, would He often have had to suffer [over and over again] since the foundation of the world. But as it now is, He has once for all at the consummation and close of the ages appeared to put away and abolish sin by His sacrifice [of Himself].
Col. 2:13:And you who were dead in sins, trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought to life together with [Christ], having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions.
These verses shows we are no longer slave to sin we are a child, real child of God, we don't need to wastÄ— our time  praying for forgiveness of sin, it looks like telling God to look at the sins he had already covered or buried underground by Jesus. Sin is not the problem again but your fellowship with him. The law was given not to fulfill but to know that there is sin.
Finally, forgiveness of sin is not to be prayed for, but to be preached to sinner so they will believe christ who has died for them through faith.[Luke24:47, Act 2:38; 3:18_19;Act10:43;26:18 ].
